Knowing when to Fold in Fixed Limit Poker

rounders chipco poker chipsGood players know when to fold preflop. The decision is very crucial. It is like you declare war, retreat, or just watch the other players play it all out.

During the preflop, you want to go for premium hands. When it is a multi way pot you may want to play a preflop with suited connectors or small pairs. You do not stick much to those marginal hands when the game is between three players for the pot.

When you have a combination of KT or AJ, by all means go for it when you are on a heads up or on a three way collision.

If you have King Spade and Five Diamonds, drop it and fold.

Remember that what you do during the preflop plays a big factor if you will gain or lose chips. After the flop, there will be three rounds of betting and these will not come in a finger snap to you. Think hard and analyze.

In a limit hold’em, there will be two big choices you need to make. First of this will be the preflop. If you decide to play your hand, there will be a big decision when the turn comes.

When you decide to call on the turn, you may need to call the river because you cannot just give up two big bets that you just made. You don’t want to waste your money and effort just to give up a winning hand.

In case someone raises the bet preflop and only one bet is made after the flop, there will be 3 small bets on your part to witness the turn. In case the cards doesn’t look good. You can fold at this time. You will be losing some chips but still less than what you can lose if you declare a war against the cards of other players.

The river is never the moment to fold. It is only when things are at their worst for your part that you fold, say there have been too much raising and betting that you know you have been outmaneuvered.
